Hydroxy Silicone Oil

Chemical Name: Hydroxy-terminated Polydimethylsiloxane

CAS No. 70131-67-8
Hydroxy Silicone Oil, a hydroxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane, is a functional polymer with gradient variations in viscosity and terminal hydroxyl content. The reactive hydroxyl groups at both terminals of its molecular chain endow the material with excellent reactivity.

Applications

Low viscosity grades enable hydroxylation modification of filler surfaces, improving compatibility between inorganic powders and organic phases. Medium and high viscosity grades serve as base polymers for RTV silicone rubbers, widely used in electronic potting adhesives, sealants and adhesives.

In crosslinking systems, it undergoes polycondensation with alcohol-type, oxime-type and acidic silane crosslinkers. Tin-based catalysts significantly reduce reaction activation energy, accelerating siloxane bond formation and crosslinking network construction.

Precision control of viscosity and functional group content allows this product series to be applied as both surface treatment agents and matrix polymers, delivering high-performance solutions for electronic packaging, composite materials and other fields.
